PondMAX Platinum Color & Growth Koi Food is positioned as a step up from the standard PondMAX warm-season range. Rather than choosing between a growth-focused diet and a color-focused diet, this formula combines both in one pellet — intended for pond owners with established, larger koi who want a streamlined daily diet during the warm months.
The protein content is set at 35.5% minimum, providing the amino acid intake that supports muscle condition and general health. The color-enhancement complex draws on natural pigment sources to support the expression of reds and yellows, which koi can only obtain through diet rather than producing internally. Digestibility is a design consideration throughout — a more digestible food means more nutrition is absorbed per pellet and less enters the water as waste.
The 6mm pellet size is larger than the Color Enhancer (4mm) and Staple Growth (3.5mm) formulas, making it suited to koi 6 inches and larger that can comfortably handle a bigger pellet. Floating pellets bring fish to the surface at each feeding, which provides a regular opportunity to check condition, appetite, and color progress. The formula is made in the USA. Available in three bag sizes: 5 lb, 20 lb, and 50 lb. Feed above 60°F; switch to PondMAX Spring & Fall Wheat Germ Diet below 60°F.

- Feed 2–3 times daily. Offer only what fish will consume within 5 minutes; remove uneaten food promptly.
- Feed when pond water is consistently above 60°F. When temperature drops below 60°F, transition to PondMAX Spring & Fall Wheat Germ Diet.
- The 6mm pellet is designed for koi 6 inches and larger. Do not use this formula in ponds with smaller fish who cannot manage this pellet size.
