Euro Series Pressure Filter

Product Details:

PondMAX Euro Series is a compact pressurized pond filter designed for ponds and water gardens. Available in PF1000 and PF2000 models, it combines five filter levels – fine filter sponge, coarse filter sponge, Bio-Sphere media, Kinshi-mat, and a settling chamber – with a built-in backwash rinsing system for routine maintenance. The filter installs in-line with a compatible pond pump and can be partially buried beside the pond. PF1000 is rated up to 1,000 gallons; PF2000 up to 2,000 gallons without fish in shaded conditions.

PondMAX Euro Series Pressure Filter is a compact pressurized pond filter system for ponds and water gardens. Available in PF1000 and PF2000 models, it uses multiple filter materials – fine filter sponge, coarse filter sponge, Bio-Sphere biological media, and Kinshi-mat – with a settling chamber to support mechanical and biological filtration. Water is supplied by a separate pond pump through the ‘IN’ inlet and returns to the pond through the ‘OUT’ outlet while the top control knob is in the ‘WORK’ position.

For routine maintenance, the filter is equipped with a ‘Backwash’ (reversed water flow) system. The safety valve and ‘DIRTY’ outlet allow wash water to be discharged while the top control knob is turned to the ‘CLEAN’ position. More thorough cleaning can be completed by removing the filter materials and washing them under running water. Do not use chemical detergents.

The filter can be partially buried beside the pond for a lower-profile installation. It must not be immersed in water and should be installed at least 3 ft (1 m) from the pond edge in an area not subject to flooding. PF1000 is rated up to 1,000 gal (3,750 L) without fish/shaded and 500 gal (1,875 L) with fish/full sun. PF2000 is rated up to 2,000 gal (7,500 L) and 1,000 gal (3,750 L), respectively.

How it works

  • A separate pond pump connects to the ‘IN’ inlet and supplies pond water to the pressure filter.
  • With the top knob in the ‘WORK’ position, water passes through the internal filter materials for mechanical and biological filtration.
  • The filter uses fine and coarse filter sponges, Bio-Sphere media, Kinshi-mat, and a settling chamber.
  • Filtered water exits through the ‘OUT’ outlet and returns to the pond.
  • For routine cleaning, the ‘Backwash’ (reversed water flow) system directs wash water to the ‘DIRTY’ outlet with the knob in the ‘CLEAN’ position.
  • After cleaning, put the knob back in the ‘WORK’ position and close the safety valve.

Technical Specifications

Setup

  1. Position the filter at least 3 ft (1 m) from the pond edge, in a spot that won’t flood, and where it won’t fall into the water.
  2. Fit the gaskets on the connectors, then attach a pump to the “IN” inlet.
  3. Connect a pipe from the “OUT” outlet to return filtered water to the pond.
  4. Turn the top knob to the WORK position to begin filtering.

Routine Cleaning (Backwash)

  1. Switch off the pump.
  2. Open the safety valve and connect a pipe to the “DIRTY” outlet to carry away the rinse water.
  3. Turn the top knob to the CLEAN position to reverse water flow and flush debris from the media.
  4. Once clear, turn the knob back to WORK and close the safety valve.

Deep Cleaning

  1. With the pump off, unclip the lid and lift it away from the housing.
  2. Remove the filter media (sponges, bio-spheres, Kinshi-mat) and rinse each under running water — avoid chemical detergents, which can harm beneficial bacteria.
  3. Reassemble the media in its original order, reposition the lid correctly, and re-secure the clips.
  4. Restart the pump and confirm the knob is set to WORK.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

  • Not for use in freezing conditions — remove, empty, and store indoors over winter.
  • Maximum water temperature: 95°F (35°C).
  • Never connect to a public water supply.
