UV-C Water Clarifier (Euro Series)

PondMAX UV-C Water Clarifier is designed to improve water clarity in ponds and water features by controlling free-floating algae and bacterial blooms. Installed in-line with a pond pump, the clarifier directs water through a UV-C chamber where it is exposed to ultraviolet light before continuing through the filtration system or returning to the pond. This provides a chemical-free method of controlling the organisms responsible for green and cloudy water. The underlying NEWA Pure Light UV-C platform is designed for pond and aquarium water clarification and uses a high-performance UV-C lamp for continuous treatment.

PondMAX range includes 9W, 18W, 24W, 36W, and 60W models, covering ponds from 1,000 to 6,000 gallons with fish in full sun. Recommended maximum flow rates range from 600 to 3,000 GPH, allowing the clarifier to be matched to the pond volume and circulation system.

Installation is flexible across the range. The UVC9W accepts 1/2, 3/4, and 1 in hose connections, while the 18W, 24W, 36W, and 60W models accept 1, 1-1/4, and 1-1/2 in hose sizes. The 24W, 36W, and 60W models also provide two outlet positions to simplify plumbing layout. The clarifier can operate as a stand-alone UV treatment stage or be used with pressure or gravity filtration systems. It must be installed externally, not submerged, and connected to a running pump with adequate water flow.

Maintenance is straightforward. A built-in safety switch shuts the lamp off if the ballast assembly is opened, while the removable ballast, UV-C lamp, quartz tube, O-rings, and fittings can be accessed for routine service. PondMAX recommends replacing the UV-C lamp every 5,000–6,000 operating hours to maintain effective performance and cleaning the quartz tube as needed to prevent mineral buildup from reducing UV transmission.

All models operate at 120V and include a 16 ft power cord. The PondMAX UV-C Water Clarifier is backed by a 2-year limited manufacturer’s warranty.
