Clear water is a biological result, not a chemical one
Every pond runs on a nitrogen cycle. Fish produce ammonia; nitrifying bacteria in the biofilter convert that ammonia to nitrite, and nitrite to comparatively harmless nitrate. When the bacterial population keeps pace with the waste load, the water stays clear and the fish stay healthy. When it falls behind — after a new build, a spring start-up, a heavy feeding season, or a filter clean — organic matter accumulates faster than it can be processed, and cloudy water, odor and rising ammonia readings follow.
How BactiMAX+ works
BactiMAX+ uses a concentrated blend of natural pond beneficial bacteria to digest fish waste and suspended dead organics before they can settle or cloud the water. Those bacteria also reinforce the naturally occurring nitrogen cycle inside biofilters, supporting the conversion of toxic ammonia and nitrite into healthy pond water. The result is a pond that holds its own balance with less intervention from you.
Because BactiMAX+ is a live liquid culture rather than a dormant powder, it is designed to start working the moment it is added to the water. Dosing directly into the filter chamber puts the bacteria where the biological work happens and where they can colonize media most quickly.
When to use it
As a routine treatment every two weeks through the active season, whenever water temperature is above 45°F. At double rate when commissioning a new pond or restarting a filter in spring, to seed the media quickly. And at the prescribed rate every three days when a problem appears between routine doses — cloudy water, a spike in ammonia or nitrite — until levels come back down.
Safe for the life in your pond
BactiMAX+ is safe for use in ponds containing fish, plants, pets and wildlife when used as directed. It is a biological treatment rather than a chemical clarifier. One important note: do not use other chemicals while treating with this product. Algaecides and medications can suppress the bacterial culture you are trying to establish, so allow treatments to run separately rather than in combination.

Routine application
Apply BactiMAX+ every two weeks. For the initial treatment of a new pond, or at the start of the season, double the application to seed your pond filter quickly.
Persistent problem application
If a problem arises between routine applications, apply BactiMAX+ at the prescribed rate every three (3) days until the pond becomes clear and ammonia and nitrite levels are reduced.
For best results
Apply BactiMAX+ directly into the filter if possible, or apply directly to the pond in an area of greatest circulation. Shake well before use.
