PondMAX Solar Battery Back-Up

PondMAX Solar Battery Back-Up is designed to store solar energy for PondMAX Solar Pump Kits and has enough charge to run the pump for approximately 3–4 hours on its own. It extends the operation of compatible solar-powered fountains and water features when sunlight is limited, with a simple connection between the solar panel, battery backup, and pump.

The battery backup has built-in overcharge protection, and LED indicator lights provide its working status. The yellow CHARGE indicator illuminates when the battery begins to charge, regardless of whether the system switch is On or Off. The battery will still charge in daylight while the system is switched Off, and the system automatically cuts off charging current when the battery is fully charged.

The output voltage can be adjusted in the range of 12–24 V for optimal pump performance. At the minimum 12 V output setting, the pump operates at a lower performance level with extended run-time capacity. At the maximum 24 V setting, the pump runs at maximum performance but exhausts the battery at a faster rate, shortening operating time.

For added flexibility, the Timer On/Off switch allows intermittent or continuous pump operation. In intermittent mode (Timer On), the pump operates for 10 minutes per hour to conserve battery energy, which can be especially useful during winter or on cloudy days. When Timer is Off, the built-in timer is disabled and the pump runs continuously while sufficient battery charge remains.

If the battery reaches its minimum voltage, the pump automatically stops and the SYSTEM indicator turns red. The system remains in its recharging state until sufficient charge is restored, then returns to operation. The included 16 ft cable and threaded connections support straightforward setup with a compatible PondMAX Solar Pump Kit. For safe operation, connect the battery backup only to the specified DC solar supply, and position the unit in a protected, dry location away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
